Lithium Capacitor Battery Structural Overview

The lithium capacitor battery (16300, 3.7V class) is designed by engineers as a hybrid electrochemical architecture, which combines lithium-ion electrode chemistry with capacitor-like charge behavior. They then stack cathode foil, anode foil and a microporous separator into a layered strip and then they wind the structure into a compact cylindrical core with controlled tension. In the meantime, they keep the windings accurate during the winding process to guarantee the layers are uniformly distributed. Following this, the rolled assembly is loaded by technicians into a rigid metal casing and stabilized in its internal geometry, and then electrolyte injection starts.

Material Composition and Electrochemical System

To create the cathode layer, manufacturers apply the lithium metal oxide compounds to the aluminum foil, and to create the anode layer, they apply the graphite-based slurry to copper foil. Moreover, they present a PP/PE multilayer separator that facilitates the movement of ions but does not allow direct contact between electrodes. In addition, they make a lithium salt electrolyte solution in organic carbonate solutions and they are very careful to keep the moisture content at a low level to ensure that the chemical is stable. In the meantime, the cylindrical housing is made of aluminum alloy or steel to guarantee mechanical rigidity and sealing reliability in processing.

Electrode Fabrication and Winding Process

In the preparation of slurry, technicians start with the active powders, conductive additives, and polymer binders mixed together into a homogeneous mixture. They then apply the slurry to the metallic foils with precision coating equipment and dry the electrodes under controlled thermal conditions. They then use calendering pressure to regulate the electrode density and surface uniformity. Once the foils have been cut into thin strips, they are inserted into automated winding machines to create a tightly wound core. Simultaneously, they weld electrode tabs, either by ultrasonic or resistance welding to provide stable electrical contacts.

Formation Cycling and Industrial Standard Control

Formation cycling is initiated by engineers to cause electrochemical reactions and stabilize interfacial layers in the cell. They then perform aging tests in controlled temperature conditions to test the stability of voltage and the behavior of impedance. Lastly, quality teams conduct dimensional inspection, internal resistance measurement and sealing verification. During the manufacturing process, manufacturers adhere to IEC 62133 and UN38.3, which guarantees structural integrity, electrical consistency, and compliance with the requirements of transport safety of the manufacturing of lithium capacitor batteries.
