Cylindrical LiPo Battery 1200mAh Structural Overview

The cylindrical LiPo battery 17350 (3.7V, 1200mAh class) is designed by engineers based on a compact spiral-bound electrochemical architecture. They roll first cathode-coated aluminum foil, graphite-coated copper foil, and polymer separator layers into a continuous laminated strip. They then roll the multilayer structure into a tight jelly-roll core that is densely wound into a cylinder with a very low tension. At the same time, technicians constantly control the speed of winding and the position of the edges to avoid internal layers offset and the buildup of mechanical stress. Once the core is made, they place it into a precision metal casing and stabilize its internal geometry prior to electrolyte injection.

Electrochemical Material System

The cathode is made by manufacturers by coating lithium transition-metal oxide slurry on aluminum foil current collectors. Simultaneously, they make the anode with carbon slurry made of graphite on copper foil substrates. They also add a PP/PE microporous separator to achieve ionic conduction but electrical isolation between electrodes. Moreover, they prepare an organic carbonate electrolyte that includes lithium hexafluorophosphate (LiPF6) and they carefully regulate the moisture content to avoid degradation reactions. In the meantime, the cylindrical housing is made of high-strength steel or aluminum alloy material to ensure structural integrity in sealed conditions.

Electrode Fabrication and Layer Processing

Technicians start by spreading active materials, conductive carbon and polymer binders into a homogeneous slurry system. They then transfer the slurry onto metal foils with precision coating machines with controlled thickness parameters. They then dry the electrodes by using staged thermal ovens to eliminate solvents. Then, the electrode layers are pressed by calendering rollers to obtain uniform density and surface smoothness. They then slice the processed foils into thin strips and insert them into automated winding machines to create a tightly-packed spiral structure. Meanwhile, they weld tabs of electrodes with ultrasonic or resistance welding methods to provide stable current paths.

Formation Cycling and Quality Standard Control

Engineers also start formation cycling to open up the electrochemical interfaces and stabilize the interphase layer of solid electrolyte in the cell. Then, they perform aging tests in controlled temperatures to test voltage consistency and impedance behavior. Lastly, quality teams carry out dimensional inspection, internal resistance check, and sealing check. During the manufacturing process, IEC 62133 and UN38.3 standards are adhered to, which guarantee the structural reliability, electrical stability, and compliance with transport safety of cylindrical LiPo battery 1200mAh production.
