501740 Li-Polymer Battery Structural Overview

The 503450 3.7 V LiPo energy storage battery is built by engineers on a flat pouch-cell architecture with extremely tight dimensional tolerances. First, they align the stack of electrodes in a layered arrangement, with uniform spacing throughout the cell surface. Subsequently, technicians place the cathode, separator, and anode in a consistent order to ensure internal consistency. In the meantime, insulation films are laid along edge areas to alleviate stress concentration during sealing. The structure is stacked and then passes into lamination and pouch-forming processes. (Typical 503450 format: approx. 34×50×5 mm class).

Electrode Materials and Internal Composition

The cathode is constructed by manufacturers with lithium metal oxide that is coated on aluminum foil, and the anode is constructed with carbon material that is made of graphite and is coated on copper foil. Moreover, a microporous polymer separator is introduced between the layers of electrodes to allow the movement of lithium ions but not direct electrical contact.
