The Medical device battery takes the form of a small lithium-ion battery pack with embedded smart control capabilities. Several cylindrical or prismatic cells are assembled by engineers in a regulated module. An embedded control circuit constantly monitors voltage, current, and temperature. In the meantime, the battery management system balances charge and discharge behavior to ensure electrical consistency. Signal interfaces are used to transmit operational data in real time to monitor it.

Materials and Cell Architecture

Lithium cobalt oxide or lithium nickel-based chemistries are chosen by manufacturers due to their stable electrochemical behavior.
