Single-Cell Rechargeable LiPo Battery Structural Overview
The 450840 single-cell rechargeable LiPo battery is designed by engineers in the form of a compact pouch cell with a layered internal structure. To begin with, they stack the cathode, separator, and anode in a flat arrangement to ensure that the thickness of the cell body is uniform. Then, technicians position all the layers to minimize internal movement during sealing and cycling. In the meantime, insulated films are used between conductive parts to enhance structural stability and electrical isolation. Once positioned, the cell goes through the lamination and pouch-forming phase.
Electrode Materials and Internal Chemistry
The cathode is made of lithium metal oxide coated on aluminum foil by the manufacturer, and the anode is made of graphite material deposited on copper foil. Moreover, between the electrodes, a microporous polymer separator is inserted to facilitate the transfer of lithium ions but not direct contact. Lastly, insulation resistance tests, sealing tests, and electrical tests are done before shipment.
